Germany's biggest fireworks spectacle in Cologne

The Cologne Lights are among the largest music-synchronous fireworks displays in Germany and have become an integral part of German fireworks festivals.

Several fireworks along the Rhine illuminate a column of ships before the highlight, the music-synchronous fireworks on the Rhine (at the height of the Tanzbrunnen) are set off.

The Cologne Lights are a highlight of fireworks events in Germany. Several hundred-thousand people flock to Cologne year after year to watch the Cologne Lights. After several fireworks displays along the banks of the Rhine, accompanied by a sea of sparklers, the grand, music-synchronized fireworks display on the Rhine concludes the event. Rising crowns, Italian cylinder bombs, cake boxes, kamuros, chrysanthemums and many other effects open in time in the sky.

The musical supporting program begins in the afternoon at the Tanzbrunnen Cologne.

Admission is free. To get a good view of the fireworks, secure a good spot on the banks of the Rhine early.
