 -

The event ends at

24 December 2024

The Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt is one of the oldest and certainly the most famous Christkindlesmarkt in the world.

In the wooden stalls of the "little town made of wood and cloth" you can find traditional, often hand-made Christmas decorations and sweet treats such as gingerbread and speculoos. Additional attractions are the Children's Christmas and the Star House, the sister city market and the Nuremberg children's procession of lights.

"You, ladies and gentlemen, who were once children, are back today," says the Christ Child when he speaks at the opening of the Nuremberg Christmas Market.

And this is right, because with a little childlike joy in Christmas tree decorations, golden angels, wooden nutcrackers, nativity scenes and colorful stars, you will forget about the time while strolling around the romantically lit Christkindlesmarkt.

Now that you've got the souvenirs for those who stayed at home, don't miss out on the delicious treats in the market. Original Nuremberg gingerbread and Nuremberg roast sausages should not be missing on any visit.

Christkindlesmarkt in Nuremberg

A Christmas city for children has been set up at Hans-Sachs-Platz. During Children's Christmas , visitors can bake cookies, paint glasses, write a Christmas wish list to the Christ Child, or ride a carousel and Ferris wheel on the nostalgic fairground. The star house in the newly renovated Heilig-Geist-Saal offers a colorful cultural and storytelling program around the Christkindlesmarkt.

Christkindlesmarkt, gingerbread and original Nuremberg Bratwurst have made this city world-famous. In the Franconian metropolis, everything revolves around sausage—and this for more than 700 years! Only as long as your finger, but simply irresistible – that’s an original Nuremberg Bratwurst
